ePowered Razor Scooters Are A Menace To Society

One of them shoots fire and the other is a sidewalk vandal?s dream. Since Razor Scoters he been taking a beating in the popularity department these last few years, the company has been at pains reinventing their iconic product for a new generation. To capture the hearts and minds of today?s younglings (and a few adults who don?t want to pay for gas), two new models were recently unveiled.

Scooters

Now look at the pic up north. Below is the Grafitti, which leaves a trail of smeared writing wherever the scooter goes. On top of it is the eSpark, which bles sparks for that fast and furious effect. Wait until the eSpark is ridden around a firework s factory. There?ll be sparks for sure!

It would have been cooler to attach something that goes pew pew at front.

Dumb humor aside, if you like either of these the chalk goes for $59.99 while the eSpark almost thrice that.

TiGr Bike Lock

by Mark R - on April 29th, 2011

I have seen a lot of bike locks in the past, but most of them are pretty tricky when it comes to storing on the bicycle.

The TiGr is a titanium ?bow? that its extremely flexible, and it has ?lock claims flexibility, hack-proof strength, and a sexy design worthy of your ride?. It can stretch out to about five foot five inches, and then both ends lock together.

As you can see, it is one of those bikes that locks the wheels together so that no one can ride off with it. Personally, I like the type that lock up against something like a tree or a bar, but that is just me.

What is really interesting is how the lock is stored on the bike. It can go around the frame along the crossbar when not in use. I guess that?s better than most of the horseshoe locks that need a special holster, and some of those thick wire locks can get tangled around the frame.

Granted, this is a Kickstarter project, which means there is going to need some funds to get it going. It could also use a new name, as I can only understand part of its current one. ?Ti? as the elemental symbol for titanium, but I checked the symbol for ?Gr?, and it?s not on the periodic table. Don?t just make up a ?Gr? element just so you can have a name.

Motorola Atrix 4G Update Can Be Manually Installed

For those of you with a Motorola Atrix 4G that don?t want to wait for the 4.1.8.3 update with HSUPA support to roll out OTA, well, you?re in luck because there is a way to snag it from Motorola right this instant if you so choose.

Motorola Atrix 4G

If you head over to Motorola?s support page, you should be able to lift the update by using Motorola Updater and following a couple of steps. Sure beats waiting for the OTA update, we?d say. A couple of things though.

The update is going to take up to 35 minutes to finish and you will need at least 2.8GB of free space in order to install it. And if your device is not detected by Motorola Software Update, you?ll want to do this:

Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > and then disable the USB Debugging setting.

After that, you should be golden and on your way to faster speeds and a better overall experience using Skype.

For a full list of what?s coming with the update, be sure to head here.

HTC ThunderBolt Still Stuck on 1x? How to Get 4G Back

Yesterday there was a nationwide 4G outage that left many HTC ThunderBolt owners without both 4G and 3G connections. While we still don?t know what has caused the widespread failure, Verizon has confirmed to GottaBeMobile that the Nationwide 4G LTE network is back up and running.

Several of our writers found their ThunderBolts had connected to 4G or 3G automatically, but at least one user was stuck on 1x until a reboot.

If your HTC ThunderBolt still shows a 1x icon next to your signal bars or shows signal bars without a 3G or 4G icon, you will need to restart your HTC ThunderBolt to get he faster data back. If you manually forced 3G yesterday, you will need to reverse the process we showed you in our first coverage of The 4G LTE outage.

This is a soft reset, like restarting your computer, not a hard reset; so you won?t lose any data.

1. Hold down your power button.
2. When he prompt comes up press Restart.

image
3. Your phone should reboot. This may take a minute. After a reboot, you should have your 4G and 3G data back.

If this does not fix your issue, you should call Verizon Wireless to ask for further help. Do not attempt to dial *228 to update your towers as this is not designed for LTE phones and could damage the SIM card that the ThunderBolt uses. The SIM will automatically update towers when you restart, which is one possible reason the restart fixes ThunderBolts stuck in 1x.

Google Docs comes to Android in App form

by Mark R - on April 28th, 2011

Some of you might remember when an official Google Reader came to Android, for those Android users who are a big fan of what Gmail can do should probably look into Google Docs for Android.

I?m sure you are familiar with Google Docs, as a text reader and editor on the internet browser of your computer. This dedicated App allows for the creation, editing, and collaborating, but according to my Source, it is more of a document manager than a solid word processor.

However, I downloaded the app, and I tested out typing out a new document, and was able to access it on my laptop later. I also found all of my old documents that I had originally typed on my laptop there and easily accessible.

If nothing else, it does allow the user to do what he or she most likely wants to do, which is search through documents, share them with contacts, and upload and convert the files into the Google documents format. Changes that are made will be done in real-time, and an Internet connection is required to edit new documents.

In other words, the Google Docs App is not really intended for creation, but consumption. I have been getting a lot from this quote since CES. It is available on the Android Marketplace now for a low price of free.

Need For Speed: The Run Revealed In New Trailer

Okay, we?re not sure what that was, but it had a Need for Speed logo at the end. We guess the series is trying for a new direction (because that went so well last time) and it?s going to focus more on the story and the characters? We knew Hot Pursuit was too good to last. All you had to do was put in a few extra cars, whip up a few more tracks and maybe turn up the bloom and we definitely would have bought the same game again, EA.

Now we?ve got exploding avalanches and guys getting run over by trains in overturned cars. That guy needn?t have bothered trying to get out, everyone knows when your car overturns in Need For Speed you wait a bit and it just teleports back on the road like nothing happened. The trailer promises ?The Race for your life,? as well as an ?11-15-11? release date.

Engage Keyboard comes with ErgoMotion

by Edwin - on April 28th, 2011

Now here is a moving experience for a computer peripheral if we ever saw one ? the Engage Keyboard that comes with ErgoMotion. Retailing for 89.99, it intends to help you alleviate the pain that is normally associated with your wrists when you sit in front of the computer keyboard, hacking away (gracefully or not, it doesn?t matter) for hours on end.

Smartfish is the brains behind this super smart keyboard that sports sophisticated intelligence which will monitor your typing behavior, including the location of keys your fingers dance across the most among others. It is smart enough to determine when to subtly change its position thanks to a patented motorized motion system. These discreet movements means your hands and wrists will never be in the unenviable position of a fixed state whenever you type, kissing the dreaded three letter acronym RSI goodbye ? for good.

Typing will never be the same again with the Engage Keyboard, and all it takes is a single USB connection to have it powered ? perfect as that means you will not need any more batteries or wires to do the job.

Android 2.3 Gingerbread Leaked for Samsung Epic 4G

Those wild boys from ACS Team, better known as the Android Creative Syndicate, are at it again! This time they?ve managed to get their little coding hands on an official test build of Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Epic 4G (software version ED12) and made it available for all ? rooted users. While the ROM is far from fully functional (no 4G, no GPS, and general bugginess) they were nice enough to supply a video of Gingerbread, in action, on their Epic 4G.

Once again, your phone would need to be rooted to apply this leaked update so don?t try any funny business unless you?ve properly done your research. I remember once upon a time flashing a leaked Froyo ROM for my Epic 4G about 3 months before it began officially rolling out so I wouldn?t get any hopes of a swift update from Sprint happening anytime soon.

The last typewriter company is no more, as is the typewriter

by Mark R - on April 27th, 2011

An India-based typewriter manufacturing company known as Godrej and Boyce has just closed its doors, which means that no typewriters will ever be on the market again.

The company states that since the early 2000?s and upwards, computers dominated the market. All the other manufacturers of office typewriters ceased, but Godrej and Boyce continued to make ten to twelve thousand of these typewriting machines until 2009. Now, it is down to 200 typewriters in its stock.

It is hard to believe that this is the end of the typewriter, but we shouldn?t really be surprised. The only reason we kept them around is to fill in official documents. However, these documents are now on computers, and it is just easier to fill in the documents on a computer and print out both. Especially now when most documents are available online.

I suppose that it is time to salute our old friend. Granted, I won?t miss its terrible ability to correct errors, but its invention did lead to advancements like the word processor.

It?s hard to believe that I learned to type on an old fashioned typewriter, but most of it was on a computer. It kind of makes me feel old. My children have never had to use a typewriter, and, if they ever get a chance to use one, they will probably approach it like I would approach the telegraph.
