Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker

by Edwin - on August 31st, 2012

Do you remember the singer Shaggy with his mega hit many years ago, Mr. Bombastic? Well, that certainly set off a trend in speak-nging (speaking/singing, you heard it here first!), and I guess that ?better late than never? applies to the Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker. The Gunmetal Grey and Purplex Purple colors will retail for 49.99, while those who want something different can settle for the Camouflage and Carbon Fiber make up which will cost you 10 quid more, that is 59.99. So, what can the Boombotix Bluetooth Street Speaker deliver in terms of performance?

Touted to fuse urban style with quality audio, the Boombotix Street Speaker relies on Bluetooth connectivity to hook up to your media playback devices. You can clip it to your belt, slip it in a bag or hook it up to a bike, and voila ? here you are, a veritable, walking library of tunes that you can share with the rest of the world. Of course, who are we to stop you from just leaving it perched on your desk? That?d be defeating the purpose of its existence though, as if you settle for the latter, you might as well purchase a more decent set of desktop speakers.

Offering up to 8 hours of non-stop audio playback, the battery requires approximately a full hour to recharge. It is also showerproof, and despite being wireless, an aux input is there just in case you have non-Bluetooth devices that want to share the music love.

Mini Microscope For iPhone

by Edwin - on August 29th, 2012

Most people would swear that the iPhone 4S has one of the best cameras around on a smartphone, and I am referring to the days before the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 were released. Well, do you agree with that particular statement, or do you think that it is a biased perception? Regardless, if you happen to own an iPhone in your pocket and want to do far more than just snap photos of your food with it, then you might want to get up close and personal with other items around you thanks to the $29.99 Mini Microscope For iPhone.

Touted to deliver up to 60x magnification right on your iPhone itself, it will come with a trio of built-in white LEDs that function as a light source, allowing you to check out very small things, verify watermarks on important documents and others. All you need to do is attach the Mini Microscope to the camera lens of your iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S and you are good to go.

We could all use a few more amazing Android wallpapers on our devices and when it comes to the designs of Andrew Bell ? he makes some of the best in the biz. You may remember his work for designing that first round of Android collectibles the world went crazy over. His newest project is the Android Foundry, a site he started to display his latest Android creations (you may remember those Android ice cube trays we told you guys about awhile back ? yeah, that was them).

Latest HP Spectre, ENVY Ultrabooks Adds Touch Technology

Along with having introduced the hybrid ENVY x2 convertible tablet running on Windows 8, HP also introduced two new ultrabook models adding the company?s TouchSmart touchscreen technologies. While slim and powerful, these ultrabooks differ from the ENVY x2 in that the display is not detachable. Rather, users have the option of controlling the HP Spectre TouchSmart Ultrabook or the HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 from either the trackpad or the built-in touchscreens.

HP Spectre TouchSmart Ultrabook

The original HP Spectre was initially unveiled earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show and features a lot of Gorilla Glass in its design. Since then, HP has gone back to a more traditional metal finish and the HP Spectre TouchSmart is a continuation of that premium design. The ultrabook features a 15.6-inch multi-touch Radiance Full HD display with IPS technology and an all-metal design that tapers to just 17.9 mm at the thinnest point. The package weighs 4.77 pounds.

Open Front Facing

The newest member of the Spectre family features the latest Intel Core processors and is the first HP notebook to feature the Thunderbolt port. The notebook also features anmSATA solid-state drive with Intel Rapid Start, Intel Identity ProtectionTechnology, Intel Anti-Theft Technology, Intel Smart Response and Intel Smart Connect technologies, and a full array of ports, including Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 and HDMI.

Left Facing Tilt

The notebook is expected to retail starting in December in the U.S. at a starting price of $1,399.

HP ENVY TouchSmart Ultrabook 4

Like the Spectre TouchSmart, the HP ENVY TouchSmart also features a multitouch display. While the Spectre comes with a Full HD display, the ENVY comes with a 720p HD screen. The ENVY measures 23 mm thin and weighs the same as the Spectre at 4.77 pounds.

The ENVY can be powered for up to 8 hours on a single charge and will utilize the ?latest Intel processors, solid-state drive options, and the same Intel technologies available on the HP SpectreXT TouchSmart Ultrabook. HP innovations such as HP CoolSense, HP Imagepad, HP ProtectSmart, HP TrueVision HD Webcam, HP Connected Photo, HP Connected Music and HP Connected Backup also are included.? The device will also have the option for AMD graphics card with 2 GB graphics memory.

CyberpowerPC Zeus-M Ultrabook

CyberpowerPC Zeus-M Ultrabook

This Ultrabook is thin, stylish and named after the God Zeus. The Cyberpower Zeus M Ultrabook looks pretty stylish. It?s also super thin. But not so thin on performance.

It was designed to deliver just the right amounts of performance, portability and smart capabilities. It packs in an Intel Core i5-3317U Ivy Bridge Dual Core processor, with an energy-efficient HM77 chipset. There?s also a whisper quiet 60GB SSD and 8GB RAM.

The Zeus-M2 model will carry 16GB RAM as well as double the SSD, without adding on any extra bulk. It is just under an inch thin and weighs less than 4 pounds. I can see why they named it after Zeus. This truly sounds like an ultrabook from the gods!
