Instagram has released its first update for the iPhone and iPad since it was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion back in April of this year.
The update brings quite a few new features and enhancements along with it which should please those with an iPhone or iPad who have felt that an update has been long overdue.
The big things that the Instagram team has included in the new and improved iOS application include improvements to the device?s speed and how it looks.

It also includes some new features that will help users discover more content through Instagram.
Here is the full list of what?s new in Instagram 2.5 for iPhone and iPad:
- Revamped profile tab
- Search for users and tags in the Explore tab
- Improvements to commenting
- User search autocompletes based on people you follow
- Visual improvements
- Speed optimizations
- Optionally share likes to Facebook (enable in your Profile > Sharing Settings > Facebook)
The Explore tab is a brand new addition to the application which will help users discover their friends and specific photos using tags. It also shows the most popular Instagram photos.
Instagram 2.5 also makes it easier for users to share their content on Facebook.
We?ve been playing around with the application for an hour or so and the application is much snappier than the previous version and features within the app seem to load up exponentially faster. It?s a much welcomed change to an application that has been dying for a new update since it was bought out.
Overall, we think Instagram junkies are going to love the update.
