Mysterious Xbox Contest Promises to Put Halo 4 Fans Right into the Action

Microsoft has just announced an exclusive and mysterious contest for Halo 4 fans in Europe. Five Xbox fans in the UK will win the chance to embark on what Microsoft is calling the ultimate adventure into the unknown to celebrate the launch of Halo 4 next month. Exactly what will take place is unknown.

The five fans who win the contest will be transported to an undisclosed location in Europe for a top-secret assignment. Microsoft promises that the assignment will bring the Halo universe to life like never before. Winners of the contest will also get to play the game and more.

Xbox social media channels will be used to offer little to that?s about exactly what will take place for winners of the contest over the coming weeks. If you will learn more about the contest, you can follow the hash tag #halo4experience. I wonder if there?ll be a similar contest in the US.

Virgin Mobile USA iPhone 5 in the Works

According to a new report, the iPhone 5 will indeed be heading to pre-paid carrier Virgin Mobile though it?s unclear as to when Apple?s new iPhone might be released onto its network.

MacRumors is reporting that the iPhone 5, which recently launched on carriers like Cricket, nTelos and C-Spire Wireless will be launching on Virgin Mobile at some point in the future though the release date is currently unclear.

Virgin Mobile currently carries Apple?s iPhone 4S and many expected the carrier to launch the new iPhone as well. However, thus far, the carrier has yet to announce any plans officially.

Apple?s iPhone 5 will apparently launch on Virgin Mobile.

It appears that Virgin Mobile will carry all six variants of the new iPhone which includes 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 5?s in both white and black.

Despite not having a 4G LTE network in place, the carrier is an extremely attractive option for consumers as it not only offers the phone off-contract but its data plans start at just $30 per month. For those that don?t wish to tie themselves down to a specific carrier with the iPhone 5, a Virgin Mobile iPhone 5 would certainly be an option to look at.

Pricing of Virgin Mobile?s iPhone 5 is currently unknown however the carrier offered the iPhone 4S for $649.99 and it?s possible that it will offer the iPhone 5 at the same price. An unlocked iPhone 5 16GB through Apple costs the same.

Read: Verizon iPhone 5 Works with AT&T and T-Mobile.

The iPhone 5 that heads to Virgin Mobile will be the same model that launched in the U.S. already. However, it won?t feature super fast 4G LTE speeds because the carrier does not have a network in place. Virgin Mobile?s fastest network is 4G WiMax but the iPhone 5 does not support that network.

We imagine that Virgin Mobile USA?s iPhone 5 could go on sale as soon as Apple starts selling the unlocked models, something that typically happens a few weeks after its initial launch.

Lifeproof Nd for iPad

12:00

Tom

by Edwin - on October 1st, 2012

So you have just gotten yourself a spanking new iPad, and will be spending countless hours down the road on the Internet to check out just what are the best kinds of protection that your iPad will be able to enjoy? Look no further if you simply ?know? that your iPad is going to end up wet on some days or situations ? as the 129.99 Lifeproof Nd will be able to offer watertight protection for your iPad.

The Nd Case might lack a screen cover, but there is a very good reason for that ? you no longer have irritating air bubbles as well as suffer from a lack of sensitivity which can get annoying if you love playing games on your iPad that require precision from your fingers. While that might be true, the Nd case will ensure it has its efforts focused on protecting your iPad from damage regardless of whether you?re on the road, in a boat or even caught in sneaky snow-storm.

Sporting an official protection rating of IP68, it should be able to handle just about anything a normal user throws at it. Heck, drop it from 4 feet or less, and the iPad should still be able to work without missing a beat, now how about that? The only thing prohibitive about this would be its price point, methinks.

KHOMO Black Rubberized Texture Samsung Galaxy S3 Back Cover Review

06:00

Tom

I did some shopping on Amazon the other day and found a couple covers for my Samsung Galaxy S3. I don?t normally use a case with my devices because I don?t like to add additional bulk. But the SGS3 is slippery and could really benefit from adding some grip. The KHOMO Black Rubber Back Cover is one of the cheapest Samsung Galaxy S3 cases I?ve found so far. Let me show you.

Note: Images can be clicked to view a larger size.

This cover is not flashy. It?s just a thin Black snap on cover that has a smooth matte rubber feel to outer surface.

Pull the existing shiny Blue cover off the back of the phone and snap this one in its place. It?s fast and easy.

The cover lines up perfectly, snaps on perfectly and feels great in your hand because it adds absolutely no bulk whatsoever. So, I must love it right? No, not really. Here?s why? Although it feels good in my hand and does provide extra grip, the rubber surface has a tendency to show grease marks and dust. But the biggest issue is that it provides no additional protection to the camera lens. I have my phone on the desk beside me and am constantly sliding it around, picking it up and putting it down. If the lens is coming in contact with the desktop, it?s going to start getting scratched and I don?t want that. So for that fact, the KHOMO cover is $6.99 down the drain for me. BTW: this cover is also available in Pink if you are interested in buying one.

Product Information

Price:	$6.99
Manufacturer:	KHOMO
Retailer:	Amazon
Pros:	Inexpensive Easy to install and remove Provides more grip that stock cover
Cons:	Does not offer added protection to camera lens
