I Love Gadgets

If you are an audiophile, then surely you would know that high quality speakers offer great sounding music ? it is only natural to be so. Of course, most high quality speakers are also large in size, but the $29.99 Vibroy Portable Vibration Speaker might just surprise you as this is a unique, pocket-sized powerful music speaker. It is capable of transforming just about everyday objects into speakers ? and if a particular device works with headphones, it will also work with Vibroy.

You can opt to stick the Vibroy Portable Vibration Speaker into everyday objects such as boxes, empty food containers, furniture ? heck, even your coffee cup, to turn it into an impromptu speaker. Since it is rather small, you can also slip it into the pocket so that you can tote it around wherever you go. The ?magic? sticker on the Vibroy will stick onto just about any surface easily, and if you want to remove it, pull it off at a 45 degree angle and restick it over and again. Should it get dirty, you can clean it in a jiffy using a damp towel.

Come to France, stay in a bubble

Some of you might remember when we covered that story about the Igloo Village in Finland, which allows guests to stay in glass igloos while observing the northern lights.

A French designer named Stephane Dumas came up with a similar model with these bubble pods for observing the stars at night. Thanks to an airlock at the entrance and a quiet pump that creates pressure, these rooms always keep their bubble shape.

There is a video after the jump if you want to see what one of these rooms look like. They have that white look of sixties and seventies science fiction films, and the transparent ceiling does look serene. Just to let you know, these rooms are made of recycled plastic.

I like the look of the room from the video, but I wish it was more private. Not only can everyone see what you are doing in the bubble, but there is a toilet in the room that?s only a few feet from the bed. For couples, this could be a stay that is a little too intimate.

My Source states that one night?s stay is $700, but I hope that this price includes renting the park for the night. The video says it is about $283.

Condition One could change movies as we know it, provided you?re watching them on a tablet

Now that the tablet market has taken off with the advent of the iPad, more and more people are watching movies on a touchscreen. A group known as Condition One has decided to take advantage of this trend with a new form of cinematography.

Simply put, this new technology allows the user to interact with the movie by shifting the camera angle with a flick of a finger. As you can see in the video after the jump, the user finally gets a chance of seeing what is happening past the edge of the screen.

Not only that, the user can physically move their screen and see from a movie camera?s point-of-view. You will have to see that to believe it. It is especially poignant to see a film about Libya.

It looks like the technology uses some hemispherical camera to get multiple angles. Considering the market for 3D movies is pretty big now, I suppose this is the next logical step, at least for tablet viewing.

I welcome this technology as it creates a more active movie-watching experience. Now you can see a story from different points of view. The company even wants to make it so a documentary about a movie can play while you are watching a movie. Think of it as a video director?s commentary.

I am liking where this is going, and I would love to see the first full-length interactive tablet movie.

Official Galaxy Nexus Multimedia Dock and Vehicle Mount Appear Online For Pre-Order

06:00

Tom

A pair of Samsung OEM accessories for the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus (i515) appeared for sale online. Well, almost appeared seeing how there are no actual images of the accessories. The Samsung multimedia dock ($69) and vehicle mount ($50) are both up for pre-order with an ?expected? release date of November 21st. This gives us another clue on when to expect the actual device to launch on Verizon seeing how the dock is specifically made for the slightly thicker i515.

The dock accessory was actually spotted for a brief moment during the joint Google/Samsung Nexus event and connects via the 3 connector pins found on the side of the device. The MSRP on both these accessories sound a bit steep for a man of my means but as you can see, retailers will most likely be offering them at varying discounts.

O2 Launches Galaxy Nexus Landing Page

Tom

Though it seemed like the end, the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus was only the beginning of the wait for the next Google flagship device. While a handful of carrier have committed to stocking the handset, none have come clean with any specifics on release date. Still, November is the loose time frame we are playing with. This was once again confirmed by a new landing page over at the O2 site, which also reveals the UK carrier will launch the HSPA+ version of the GNex. We still have no clue on pricing, but look for various contract actions to take a chunk out of the initial cost.
