There has been a lot of talk about Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus? debuts tomorrow in Hong Kong but there hasn?t been much chatter about the current devices that might be seeing the update after the announcement finally goes down. And more specifically, we haven?t heard much about what current Android Honeycomb tablets might be seeing the update that Google intends to use to unite the phone and tablet versions of its software.
Well according to a report from Fudzilla, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer 1 and 2, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Sony and Lenovo tablets will definitely be seeing the Android 4.0 update.
But what about the Motorola Xoom?
Apparently, it might be first in line for the update, something that might be a nice little consolation prize from Motorola to make up for the whole 4G LTE debacle that had been going on since February.(Side note: My vote goes to the Asus Transformers getting Honeycomb before the Xoom, but we?ll see.)
It?s a nice thought and something that makes a lot of sense considering the Xoom is the Honeycomb developers tablet. Google also bought Motorola Mobility so we have that supporting this as a possibility as well.
Currently, there is no ETA on when those of you with a Xoom or another Android tablet might see Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
We just hope it?s soon.
