Call me crazy. Call me a victim of gadget lust. Call me broke. Whatever. I went a little crazy this morning and picked up a couple of Tablets at the local Best Buy. What?s that I hear the Apple haters saying? Aren?t you an iPad fan? Well, yes, I am. But I decided that since we now have what will be for some time the three dominant Tablet OS?s finally on the market that it was time for me to do some comparisons. Let?s face it, we?ll still in the Old Testament days for Tablets and unless manufacturers like HP keep shooting themselves in the foot, there will be more to come.
I?ve been putting off jumping into the land of Android for quite some time, though I?ve tinkered with it a bit. So, one of the Tablets I picked up this morning was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. I?ve played with this Tablet a bit already but I?m looking forward to seeing what it offers.
The other Tablet I picked up was an HP TouchPad. I had already planned to make this purchase once the Tablet was released and I have to admit, I almost decided against it after reading the early reviews that all seemed to focus on the same issues. But I have to see for myself. Call me optimistic, but I can?t think that HP is not going to quickly make some improvements here seeing that they have so much invested in webOS.
But undeterred, I decided to go ahead with the plan. I?ll be doing some comparisons on these two Tablets and of course with the iPad thrown into the mix as the days and weeks go by. In the meantime, I?m searching for another job to help pay for the costs.
