We?re still not out of murky waters yet, we won?t be until something official is announced or the update itself rolls out, but it appears that we?re getting closer to shore as HTC has refuted its own statements regarding the Droid Incredible?s Gingerbread update.
You see, back on August 10th, an HTC rep claimed that the Droid Incredible Gingerbread was not on a current list of devices set to receive Gingerbread.
Turns out, that rep was a Canadian HTC representative and he or she was talking about an American device. And now we have word from a U.S. HTC rep that is saying that yes, the Droid Incredible Gingerbread is still slated to get Gingerbread and that HTC has not canceled the update.
Sadly, the rep doesn?t offer any sort of specifics regarding the release date. In fact, he clearly states that there is no estimated time for the release of the software so unfortunately, the wait continues.
We think that?s a whole lot better than ?not coming at all? though, wouldn?t you say?
