A number of Android manufacturers, which include companies like HTC and Samsung are in the middle of various patent cases with Apple, and now Google?s Eric Schmidt has once again confirmed that Google will support these companies in the various court cases.
Google recently purchased Motorola Mobility, who own a large number of patents relating to mobile phones, and one of Google?s main reasons for the acquisition was to get hold of the companies patent portfolio.
?We tell our partners, including the ones here in Taiwan, we will support them. For example we have been supporting HTC in its dispute with Apple because we think that the Apple thing is not correct.?
As well as facing various legal battles over Android with Apple, a number of Android manufacturers are now paying Microsoft license fees relating to Android, Google has spoken out about this before, but it doesn?t seem to be doing anything yet to resolve the situation.
