Another Apple store has opened in China, only this time, it?s the real deal and not a fake. Apple?s 5th store in China is also its largest and the massive store has opened just before the expected launch of the iPhone 5. While it took several months for the iPhone 4 to reach China after its launch last year, China Telecom is expected to play host to the iPhone 5 shortly after launch.
The opening of the store was marked by a huge crowd who lined up for hours before the store?s grand opening for a chance to get inside Apple?s latest store on mainland China. The flagship Shanghai store boasts around 300 employees and has four different levels.
Apple?s latest iPhone is expected to be announced on October 4th with a possible launch coming just a few days later on October 13th.
China Telecom is China?s third largest mobile carrier and according to reports, the carrier has already begun preparations for the highly anticipated launch. The carrier has even begun marketing the iPhone 5 to customers.
Analysts believe that Apple needs to open up hundreds of Apple Stores within the next 2-3 years in order to keep up with the countries demand for products like the iPhone and the iPad.
The Cupertino based company had planned on opening 25 stores by the end of the year but as of right now, it only has six open in the Greater China region including a Hong Kong store that is poised to open on Saturday.
