By now developers have had the OUYA Android gaming console for almost a month. Thanks to lots of feedback we?re now seeing the first changes. The first set of changes is to the hardware. The OUYA team got a lot of emails from developers complaining about certain features of the controller.
The biggest change is to the directional pad. On the original controller, the directional pad was just a flat disc. Now they have changed the design to a more widely-accepted cross style d-pad. This should allow easier pushing for directions.
Aside from that the thumbsticks have been given rubberized tops for better traction and the touchpad has been made more responsive. The shoulder triggers are now more flush with the body as well. And the battery door is tighter. All good changes. This should make gaming with the controller far better.
