According to Cnet and other sources all over the internet, Microsoft has officially announced the logo for Windows 8. The logo features a single color logo with no shading or depth and the metro styling. This is a bold move away from the logos that have instantly identified Windows over the years. Take away the ?Windows? part of the logo and you have something that might not instantly be recognized.
This version of the logo below is a tad different shade that what I found on The Verge and Cnet today. Their versions are more of a cyan color than this shade of green.
What do we think?
I seem to be the only one that likes it.
Sumocat isn?t too thrilled with it.
New shape alludes to Metro, but the single color does not. Inconsistent with recent Windows branding, including the Microsoft Store logo. C-
Kevin thinks it lacks inspiration.
My first thought when I saw it was uninspired and boring. It just looks horrible and I also hate the color.
And Shawn would probably like my version better.
It?s an okay logo, it certainly shows off a bit of the Metro UI. I would like to see it in other colors, though.
I like it, especially being metro looking and all, but my crude edit below would have been more recognizable in my opinion.
The waving flag and colors of previous Windows logos are just so recognizable.
What do you think? Is Microsoft changing too much with this new logo?
