I love classic Atari stuff since I grew up playing those systems. Now Hard Drives Northwest has upgraded the old Atari 2600 with some modern hardware. They have taken a limited number of authentic Atari 2600s and stuffed them with modern PC components. Can you say awesome?
They now pack a Core i7 3.4GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, a 120GB SSD and a Radeon HD 6570 graphics card with 1GB of video memory. There?s also support for USB 3.0 and 2.0, eSATA, DisplayPort, DVI and HDMI.
If that isn?t enough for you, it also includes the signature of Atari founder Nolan Bushnell. These machines aren?t up for sale, but a pair of them will be given away very soon. I would love to get my hands on one.
