All along Asus has said that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, it?s quad-core Tegra 3 tablet, would be launching in December and it?s singing the same tune even after a report surfaced that indicated that the device may have been delayed until 2012 due to Wi-Fi issues that seem to be plaguing it.
While the company didn?t offer a specific release date, it said that it still plans to ship it the week of December 19th. This comes after online retailer NCIX stated that the Transformer Prime would likely not launch before Christmas and that it was delay.
Unfortunately, we?re not out of troubled water just yet as today?s statement to The Verge does give it some outs in case it does have to delay the device until next year.
This is what Asus had to say:
At this point, we still show to be on schedule to start shipments the week of 12/19. I will provide an update once I have additional information.
So, right now, the week of December 19th is still the one to circle on your calendars. But just be aware that there is a possibility of the tablet missing the company?s expected release window.
And that would be a shame.
