Coffee lovers from our readership, your help is needed! If you want to be part of the innovation known as the Espro Press, it is currently being displayed at the Kickstarter page, being touted as a precision coffee brewer that is similar to a French press, although it does have a patent-pending two-stage micro-filter which is touted to preserve all of the freshly brewed flavors and aromas, while making sure all those nasty sediments will remain right out of your cup.
The single cup press was launched last year, and due to overwhelming response by those who kept on knocking back cup of Joes, the customers of the single cup press requested for a larger version, hence the Espro Press project that scales things up in order to deliver around 30 ounces of coffee, letting you enjoy more than a single cup or to share it with friends. The design itself is already ready, while the prototypes are complete ? it is only short of money for a production run, and this is where your generosity is being appealed.
Basically, the Espro Press is capable of making around 4 cups of coffee per round, where it holds 1.25 liters, which is around 25% larger compared to other ?8 cup? French presses that are on the market. When fully pressed, it translates to approximately 30 oz of press coffee, sans the nasty grit. The stainless steel vacuum insulated container ensures that the water temperature is maintained throughout the brew, resulting in more precise flavors. If you decide to change the brew temperature, you will end up with new and different flavors, and once you?re done brewing, your coffee is supposed to stay hot longer, so that your second and third cups (true blue coffee lovers know that one cup is just not enough) will remain piping hot too.
How does it work, you ask? Certainly no sorcery is involved, but it shares the same process as a typical French Press, although the Espro micro-filter does quite the fantastic job of separating the grinds from the coffee. All you need to do is preheat the container, throw in your fair share of coffee and water, stir it around, wait anywhere from 3 to 4 minutes, press, and voila! ? you can serve you and your guests right away. Want a stronger mix? Just use more coffee, and you?re good to go.
They?re currently around $11,500 short of their goal, with 45 more days to go.
