An extremely reliable source has informed Gotta Be Mobile that the 5-inch Verizon Droid DNA phablet from HTC, otherwise known as the HTC DLX and Droid Incredible X, will be hitting Verizon?s 4G LTE network in December to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
The source, who we trust and who has proved reliable in the past, informed us that the Droid DNA will not be launching in November as some rumors have claimed but will instead be released in the month of December. No specific date was passed along to us, which isn?t surprising, given that Verizon plays its cards close to its chest as far as specific release dates go.
For example, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which is currently up for pre-order, still doesn?t have a specific release date from Verizon. So it?s entirely possible that Verizon hasn?t come up with a specific release date yet.

What we can tell you is that as of right now, December is currently the month that Verizon is planning to release the Droid DNA, which will likely become the Galaxy Note 2?s main competitor. This of course adds up with a previous leak from the evleaks Twitter account which said that the device would be arriving on Verizon?s network in early December.
We?re also still unsure whether HTC and Verizon will reveal a specific release date for the device at next week?s Droid DNA launch event. It could be that the companies give consumers the vague, ?the coming weeks? in regards to its release date but at this point, we can?t be sure.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to be hitting Verizon on November 29th and it appears that Verizon will be giving it first dibs as far as customers are concerned. Not shocking given the Galaxy Note 2 is a proven commodity and will be extremely attractive because of Verizon?s massive 4G LTE network.
HTC?s Droid DNA looks like it has enough to give it some competition though. It?s rumored to have a 5-inch display that could feature full HD 1080p resolution, a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, an 8MP camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
We?ll likely know for sure on November 13th at the event in New York City.
