Kyocera is back with another smartphone for Sprint and this time it?s the budget, Kyocera Rise, which will be hitting the carrier on August 19th for the low price of $19.99.
The Kyocera Rise raises the bar a bit in terms of what to expect from budget smartphones. For $19.99 on-contract, the Kyocera Rise brings a physical QWERTY keyboard, a 1GHz MSM8655 Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.2-megapixel camera with an LED flash, and a 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive 480320 IPS LCD touchscreen display.
Additionally, it brings Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the table, right out of the box and has a1,500mAh Lithium-ion battery that offers 8.5 hours of talk time.

The device will also arrive on Virgin Mobile starting on August 31st. There, the device is going to cost $99.99 without the new for a contract. That?s an even better price than Sprint?s offer and certainly one to look at for those that are buying their first smartphone or are getting one for a teenager who doesn?t need all of the bells and whistles of a high-end smartphone.
The Kyocera Rise is not a 4G LTE smartphone or even a 4G WiMax smartphone. It?s going to be stuck on Sprint and Virgin Mobile?s 3G network.
Again, those who are looking for a high-end smartphone will want to look elsewhere but those who just want something that?s easy to use and very basic will definitely want to give this smartphone a look when it arrives later on this month.
It will be available in all Sprint channels, which means online and in retail stores, on August 19th. And we imagine that the same will happen on August 31st on Virgin Mobile.
